Hello

I have configured the braintree payment gateway. When I click on the payment button there is no overlay under the waiting message so :

– we can click on any element on the page

– we do not see that something is happening

This was for the case I filled in all required fields. When I miss at least one required field, empty required fields show an error message, this is normal but :

– I get a message “payment successful”

– the payment form is cleared and still displayed

I go to my braintree transaction list : the payment has not been recorded. I fill in all fields (+ credit card number) then the transaction is recorded. This is a critical bug :

– we have a lot of information to understand : fake payment successful, required fields
– a message says payment accepted while it is not

Do you have a solution to fix theseproblem ?

Thank you

Hi there,

The first step in troubleshooting this is you follow this checklist:

Hello,

I installed wordpress yesterday so everything is new up to date, it can’t be a conflict.

Do you only have WP, EE and a default theme such as twentyseventeen activated on the site? If not then is could be a plugin conflict.

However, I’m assuming you are referring to this – http://take.ms/TyXXX

The ‘accepted’ message has been removed in the next update to Braintree, but you should already see the yellow message box and a cog will appear if the response is taking a while from Braintree.

Do you not see those on your site?

Yes I am referring to your screen shot. The problem is not really the two messages (I have bought event espresso yesterday so I think I have the latest release) but the fact that there’s no overlay and even if messages and a cog are displayed, it is hard to see that’s something happens at the first glance.

We don’t add an overlay to EE when the payment is made, the cog should appear and then the user is taken to the thank you page.

I can add your feedback to a ticket for the next time we look into improving the payment steps but currently, we don’t have a ‘fix’ for this as its expected behaviour.

OK, I understand. That would be a nice improvement!

But the first problem is more critical : a message says that the payment was successful (but it was not the case) and we get this message when we forgot at least one required field (see my first message).

An update was just released that removes the success notice, please update and retest.

If you don’t see the update go to Event Espresso -> General Settings and save the setting to force an update check. It should then show in the plugins menu.

OK, I see the update notification but under the licence key field, a message tells me “do not enter your licence key on a developpement website”. I am currently developing on my local machine.

On a development site you’ll need to update the plugin manually:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-upgrade-event-espresso/#ee4-manual-update

Basically, create a backup of the site, de-activate and delete the plugin/add-on you are updating, download the new version from your account page and installed it manually through plugins -> add new -> upload plugin.
