Hi,

This message is from my client:
I just wanted to bring the issue below to your attention to see if you have any ideas as to why this might be occurring. This is for a recently posted event that has been marked as private. Others registering for this event have been able to register and pay without issue, but several have mentioned this glitch where they get a blank screen when they attempt to make payment. I don’t think this necessarily is unique to this event, since we still end up with a fair number of “abandoned” registrations for other classes, where it appears that someone attempted a registration, was unsuccessful, and then at some point was able to do so successfully.

And the email from their customer: “I tried to place an order for our upcoming wine tasting on 4/28 through Georgetown Globalization of Wine Industry class, however, whenever I click “proceed to payment” the page goes blank.”

Can you give any insight on this? I tested the registration and didn’t have any issues.

Rachel

Hi Rachel,

A white screen would normally mean there’s a fatal error being thrown, have you checked the server error logs to see if that shows any error from Event Espresso?

from my host: “We’re still not finding any fatal errors in the site’s logs. However, we are seeing hits to the /xmlrpc.php file being blocked (this is something we block by default. Do you know, by chance, if Event Espresso needs this port open?”

No, Event Espresso does not require xmlrpc.

Are there any errors at all, not just fatal’s but anything around the same time this is happening?
