We have tried to update the plugins as per the process mentioned in this url https://eventespresso.com/2014/02/developers-corner-theming-event-espresso-4/ . Process went well and completed but it is showing this error https://prnt.sc/10n8qne
“An error has occurred: The requested route 15047 could not be mapped to any registered modules where 15047 is event id. We’ve investigated on web and it seems to be showing for many users/sites.”

I’ve investigated with the error message on the web and this issue I found on multiple websites.

Can you please let me know what could be the problem.

Thanks!

Hi Bruce,

The issue is from having old EE3 style event links on your site. Those will need to be updated to point to the new style.

e.g. if you have a hardcoded link with a URL like this:

yoursite.com/event-registration/?ee=34

The link will need to be updated to something like this:

yoursite.com/events/name-of-event

Hello Bruce,

So does it mean all urls need to be updated to plain urls and this format yoursite.com/event-registration/?ee=34 will not be supported anymore.

We have these old links inline on many pages so is there any easy approach to map these links to new urls so we can update in bulk. Because I see event/post ids also change on migrating to EE4 from EE3

Thanks!

Hi,

It depends on how you’re adding the inline links. For example are they being automatically generated with a script or are they manually inserted into the pages? If the latter, then they’ll need to be manually updated to point to the new event page URLs.

So to confirm, this is not an issue with the event URLs themselves, but with separate inline links used in other site content, e.g. pages, posts, etc. right and the fix for the requested route error is to update the URLs for these separate inline links?

Yes, that’s correct.
