On my website I have Invoice, Check and PayPal options activated. I am receiving an email notification when someone purchases an event but I don’t know if they picked Invoice, Check or PayPal. On the Payment Pending email can I add a shortcode or something to let me know what they picked? Thanks |
Hi there Elizabeth, Unfortunately, we do not have a shortcode for showing that information. I checked against our list here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/custom-email-tags/ However, you can find the payment method in the attendee list screen for the event within the WP dashboard. — |

Thanks for the quick reply. I am a little surprised, that seems like a big item to be missing. Do you see this being added in at any point? |
Hi Elizabeth, I thought you were using Event Espresso 3. Sorry about that. This is available in a specific message type called the payment received message type for the event admin: http://cl.ly/image/3O2C0k2Z012v However, you’ll need to enable this notification through the messages system. Go to Event Espresso –> Messages. Then look for payment received and click on event admin. On the next page, you’ll see the messages editor for this message type. Copy and paste the following shortcode into the TO field and then save changes: [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL] — |

Hi there Elizabeth, The solution Lorenzo added above will only work if your users actually make a payment. However, the [PAYMENT_GATEWAY] shortcode mentioned above is actually available within the Pending Payment message type. If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages. Find the registration pending payment message type, then click on the Event Admin link to edit that context. You can use that [PAYMENT_GATEWAY] shortcode within the ‘Main Content’ section of your registration emails. It will parse to the last selected payment method, so if a user initially selects Invoice, then returns to pay and selects Cheque (not sure why but its possible 🙂 ) then that shortcode would show Cheque. You can find a list of all available shortcodes within each message type and each section using the 3 dashes icon – http://take.ms/Rn6lu That will look something like this – http://take.ms/iO44U Is that what you are looking for? |
