Invoice and Transaction Summary Not Removing Cancelled Attendee Registrants

In one of our events, 4 people registered for an event and then 1 subsequently cancelled. In the dashboard for the transaction, I can see the 3 approved registrants and the 1 cancelled registrant but I cannot update the invoice to remove the cancelled registrant or the event ticket cost for the cancelled registrant. I was previously able to see the updated invoice to show the correct attendees and billing amount. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Hi there,

Cancelled registrations should not show on the Invoice automatically.

So If I create a group registration on a site of 4 x £20 tickets, pay using a payment method and open up the invoice, it looks like this:

Then if I cancel one of the registrations:

The invoice should automatically show the correct details:

Can you add some details on what happens on your site if its different from the above?

Hi Tony.

Here’s a screen shot of the transaction with 4 attendees…

and we cancelled one…

and the total on the invoice is not updated…

How can I make this update to the correct amount and show the 3 attendees and adjustment for the 4th cancellation like your example?

Is that an invoice or receipt? It looks like the format we use for the receipt but with some customizations.

Can you post a link to the receipt/invoice you are viewing above so I can take a look?

Yes, that’s the invoice. We customized to use that format with all the detail…

Ok, so that’s pretty important information for this as I can only test the default template.

Can you post details of what you’ve changed in the Invoice template? This is likely to be from the specific shortcodes used and the specific locations they have been used in.

But wouldn’t the transaction amount in the EE dashboard for the transaction show the adjusted amount for 3 registrants since the 4th was cancelled?

Hmm, yes, it would, good call.

Odd issue! When I cancel the registrations it updates the transaction line items as expected.

How did you cancel the registration?

Sorry for the delayed response.

We simply clicked on the registrant and changed registration status to cancelled. I believe in the past, the system adjusted the invoice automatically.

Ok, so what I would do, is update the cancelled registration’s status back to say pending, then check the transaction items shown on the transactions overview (not the Invoice).

Do they look correct?

Now, cancel the registration again and check the transaction items, they should update to remove that cancelled registration, the issue is with those transaction items not being removed but I can’t reproduce.

If the above doesn’t work I may need to take a deeper look on the site and see if anything stands out, thats an odd issue though, not something I’ve seen before.
