The following error “and invalid response was returned fro the server while attempting to process your request Please refresh the page and try again or contact support.” does not allow users to register for events. Can you help me? Thanks!

Hi,
The “invalid response” message usually means a notice or similar was thrown during the request which breaks the AJAX request. The notice can be from anything, a plugin, the theme or some other unexpected response.
May I ask do you have access to the server error logs? If so, you can check within those to see what errors were thrown around the same time the users attempted to register for an event.

It depends on how the host has it set up. You usually have an error log within your control panel to view errors which is what Josh is referring to.
You may find the errors within an ‘error_log` file within root but really they can be anywhere and called anything.
Another option is to add this snippet to your wp-config.php file, errors will then be logged to wp-content/debug.log
