Hi. I just bought the system and installed on a SUBDOMAIN, but put in the Event Espresso the DOMAIN. Now the license is showing invalid. What do I do? |
Hi Monica, Our licencing system treats subdomains as individual sites (which they are) so it will see the licence key has been used already and not activate it for that domain. Are you transferring your Event Espresso installation to the subdomain? If so you can request a licence reset from your account page. If you are having the Event Espresso installation on both sites, then you would need an additional licence or to simply update one site manually. |

(sorry about my poor English… and probably, sorry about the no understanding of some issue…maybe is because I am a new Web Designer) I understand that you need to protect your system from unauthorized installations. of course you need rules for such protection, but why a so rigid rules? I take this opportunity to ask another question: |

Hi, I have reset the licence key for you for free. Please remove it from the old site and add it to the new one. We charge for resets as we had some issues in the past where people were basically transferring their licence very often to obtain one click updates etc. “Did I buy or rent the Event Espresso?” You have purchased access to the software and you gain 1 years worth of support, updates and access to documentation. After that year is up you can renew your licence at a discounted rate or not. The software will continue to function but as you said, if WordPress updates and changes something it could well cause problems with Event Espresso, it is hard to say. I doubt you will “lose everything” but out of date software can become problematic for you and your users and in some case may simply stop functioning. WordPress and Event Espresso are both OpenSource software and are in continual development so changes do occur quite often, so we do recommend keeping a valid licence to receive updates. |

Hi. It was very nice of you to reset my license key. Thanks a lot. About the issue Buy or Rent – I understood how it works. Thanks Mônica de Carvalho |

Hmm, invalid is strange. Can you check that there is no space or gaps before and after the licence key when it is entered into the General Settings? |
When I placed the new License, did work anda I update a plugin. Couple days later I could not update the IP Plugin… when stared showing Invalid License. At the same time the reCaptcha stop working too…doesn´t appears in the pages. |
Hi Monica, Re-captcha will only appear if you are logged out of the site. With your license key issue, we sent an email to you about this. It appears that the lite versions license key was placed in Event Espresso>General settings. Please remove the key that’s set in your Event Espresso>Generals page, save, then go to your account page and copy the other license key you have in your account into the key field. The correct license key will not have the word “FREE” at the end of the key. |
But the key on my Account Page is [removed] (with FREE and it is the same that I received on the email) Below the email: Hello Monica,
Hi, Thanks for the information. You will need to remove the key ending in _FREE from your site and save the General Options with no key. Then go to your account page here at Event Espresso and you will see two licence keys, one needing in _FREE and the other without that. Please copy the one without _FREE and paste that into your General Settings and save. |
Wow… that was a simple and long issue. I am so sorry but I thought the key with “Not Active”, should be use just after you Active it. |

🙂 Event Espresso is a complex plugin, so please don’t be sorry, we are here to help. Glad it is fixed, I will mark this thread as resolved. |
