We have recently upgraded WordPress and have purchased EE3.
Everything is working fine except when the you click on the ‘Confirm Registration’ button to connect to PayPal an Internal Server Error occurs on and off.
We have increased our hosting to 500M however, the error still occurs.

Can anyone please provide any help to trouble-shoot the problem.
We have attempted three times to purchase a priority token however this is also not working.

Cheers,
E

Hi,

Internal Server Errors are usually just that: a server error. They are also a little difficult to pinpoint.

Was there any other information in the error?
Have you spoken to your host about this?
Have you checked your server error logs?
When you say that you increased your hosting to 500M, are you referring to hard drive space or memory?

Hi Dean,

Thanks for your response. We have spoken to our host about this and this was their reply:

– increased PHP memory on the server to 500MB & yes we checked the server error logs but could not find any error which could be related to this issue.

– However there was a warning on 12th of Sep 2014 as shown below:PHP Warning: Missing argument 2 for event_espresso_price_dropdown(), called in /home/energysk/public_html/wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/registration_page_display.php on line 119 and defined in /home/energysk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/functions/pricing.php on line 369

Not quite sure what else to do?
As the issue is inconsistent, we are concerned that when people try to pay for our event and have problems, it will deter them from completing the registration.

Cheers,
Danielle

Hi Danielle,

That amount of memory isn’t necessary to run Event Espresso. 96M or 128M is a good amount if you have a lot of plugins running and expect many registrations to occur in a short period of time.

Can you confirm that the correct PayPal information is setup in Event Espresso payment settings?

We recently had a member that had a typo on their email and PayPal was failing as an internal server error.

Next, there are custom template files running. Could you try temporarily renaming the folder here and retesting?

wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates

Also, do any of your events have special characters in their name such as the copyright or trademark symbols?

Those can cause issues as well.

Lorenzo
