Installation partial failure… No admin section

Just installed Version 4.8.22.p on my staging site on WP Engine. The installation seems to have worked as get the welcome, setup screen. However, there is not Event Espresso tab on the dashboard so I can’t really access any of the plugin settings. Also, if I click events from the dashboard widget I get a “You do not have access to this route” error. I’ve tried deactivating all plugins and changing to a default theme to no avail.

I’ve successfully installed this locally with the same theme and it all went perfectly.

Any ideas?

Hi Grady,

It may help to re-install on your staging site, and you can also try going to this URL

http://yourstagingsiteurl.wpengine.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings&action=data_reset

Then you click on the Reset Event Espresso Capabilities button

Brilliant, that url worked 🙂 I also deleted and manually uploaded the plugin just prior to that so not sure which it was but I’m free now!!! Happy Friday.

Please let us know if that resolves the issue.

I did want to mention that you should request no-cache rules from WP Engine and ask them to turn on the WP heartbeat API on the live site.

Caching is off on staging but is enabled on live / production so we are sharing this recommendation so your registrants/attendees don’t experience any strange issues while registering.
