Inserting Customer Fields into Messages

I’m having some trouble customising messages. We use custom fields to send out notes and additional information to our attendees so it’s essential to our event management.

We have created two specific custom fields:
course_dates and event_notes

I don’t seem to be ‘allowed’ to add these fields into custom messages.

Can you advise please?

Where did you add these custom fields?

Also which message type are you trying to add them to and within which section?
