I am going through the setup and I setup our village hall address in venue. Our address “State/Province” I selected our county of “Hampshire” from the pull down. However when selecting the venue in the event it shows “New Hampshire” which is assuming it is set to USA, but is set to UK.
There does not seem to be a way to correct the error because the correct value is in the pull down, but the display value is NOT what was selected.

It should also be noted that when setting “State/Province” from the pull down in the settings it shows UK counties AND US states AND Canada states, yet the US is NOT selected.
This is an urgent problem to resolve because I cannot publish the venue address with the wrong county. You could have provided a means of leaving it blank.

Hi there,

I am going through the setup and I setup our village hall address in venue. Our address “State/Province” I selected our county of “Hampshire” from the pull down. However when selecting the venue in the event it shows “New Hampshire” which is assuming it is set to USA, but is set to UK.

I can’t reproduce this, if I set the Venue address to New Hampshire, UK, that is the address used for that Venue.

This is what I have set: https://monosnap.com/file/9kL7ehgl2rspyX18Bgpi2hFydUJ3Nf

Venue front end: https://monosnap.com/file/yCRrErNjoGLHEET2MsFkf1ilzgyuqx

I assume you have the same/similar setup?

It should also be noted that when setting “State/Province” from the pull down in the settings it shows UK counties AND US states AND Canada states, yet the US is NOT selected.

Sorry, but US is not selected where?

The states shown in the dropdown are controlled within the Countries option in Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Countries.

Select US in the dropdown and set the ‘Country Appears in Dropdown Select Lists’ option to No, then save.

Do the same with Canada.

You’ll now only see UK counties within the dropdown.

Side note – part of the same bug affecting the EU member option within your other thread will show up when you do this in that the ‘No’ option will not display when set. So on save the ‘Country Appears in Dropdown Select Lists’ will then display no value, which is because its set to false and the option isn’t displaying.

Tony,

Thank you for your reply..

First of all, I did NOT set “Venue address” to New Hampshire, UK>

I DID set “Venue address” to Hampshire, UK

See image: https://villagehall.abbottsann.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Slide-1.jpg

When I buy a ticket the address in the top of the order confirmation is correct meaning it says “Hampshire, GB”, see image: https://villagehall.abbottsann.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Top-Slide-3.jpg

At the bottom of the same order confirmation document, it shows “New Hampshire” see image

I hope that makes it easier to understand the problem.

Hi Keith,

I DID set “Venue address” to Hampshire, UK

Apologies, me asking if you set the Venue to ‘New Hampshire’ was a typo on my part, too many Hampshires and not enough caffeine 🙂

All of those images show page not found for me.

Is there an event I can register onto to view this?

When I buy a ticket the address in the top of the order confirmation is correct meaning it says “Hampshire, GB”

Just below the logo? That’s taken from your invoice settings, which will also use your organization settings if not set. This sounds like its an issue within the venue address rather than the above.

At the bottom of the same order confirmation document, it shows “New Hampshire” see

These are taken from the venue object, sounds like those are incorrect.

I’m guessing the images show those in more detail but I can’t view them currently.

Tony,

Yes the images show the exact issue.

Tony,

I have just gone through this all again and I may have made a mistake.

The reason I say this is that I have just gone back to the Venue address setting and to my surprise it is set to “New Hampshire”

Let me come back to you later after doing further testing.

Regards

Ok, so when you edit that venue within EE, it shows just ‘Hampshire’ as selected there?

I had the page open and testing your venue address on my test sites to confirm if it worked there (it did), which is why my reply is asking to check something you’ve already commented on.

Setting the above within the venue itself should fix the above as its working for me, unless something has gone really amis with ‘states’ on your site, which we can investigate further if needed.
