We have heard from some patrons recently that after they abandoned their shopping cart without paying, they received tickets via email. I have checked to make sure that the Global Event and Individual Events Default Registration setting are set to “Pending Payment.” They are. It looks like this is only occurring when registration is marked as Incomplete rather than Abandoned. This issue is NEW since upgrading to the FULL EE4. We now use Multi-Event Registration too. Can you tell me what I need to do to fix this issue?
I have tested the system myself and found that I was issued tickets after I logged into Paypal to pay for my ticket but abandoned paypal without paying. Please advise what we need to do to correct this.
If you go to Event Espresso > Messages, and check the message activity list, which email message type is being sent out for those abandoned registrations? Is it the ticket notice message type or a different message type?
Thanks for confirming. What you can do to fix this issue is go in to edit the affected events, and change the Default Registration Status option from “Approved” to “Pending Payment”.
Ahhh. I see my problem. The 2nd place to look is on the actual event page. Got it. Changing now.
