I just purchased EE4, Im trying to import an ics file.
I looked everywhere, and searched on the EE site, as well as just google searching it. From what I can tell from previous posts, it was something that was going to be added in 4.3. Does EE4 have the capability to import .ics files? If so, how?
That member was asking about a download ICS option that will let you add your events to your own calendar. This is available in the current version of Event Espresso (a small calendar button appears in the event description area).
Importing ICS into Event Espresso 4 is not available at this time.
what i’m actually referring to is a method to import an ics file directly in to create events. kind of like importing a csv file, only having a real-time import/link that will import a new ics date as they’re created (say in google cal)
i’m not looking for a way for people to export/import our calendar into their systems, i’m looking for a way to take our central event database and import it in, so we don’t have to recreate each event from scratch in the backend of wordpress.
I’ve used several other calendar systems and most others have this feature. I now realize that I misread the ics post… and it’s for exporting, not importing.
Importing ICS files is not an available feature at this time. It is not currently on our roadmap, though I would be happy to add this as a feature request for possible inclusion in the future.
