It takes between 40 and 200 seconds, or more for our Authorize connected account to process a payment. That plus the fact I can’t search the database inside EE and other issues are forcing my hand to try something new. I figured I’d make one more play to get this resolved before taking off. We’ve been here since EE3 came out, but there might be better options…
Can you let us know which type of hosting you are using? If its shared hosting you may find the server is under load and unable to respond to your requests within a timely fasion.
I ran a quick test registration and it seems that any requested that has not been cached on your server is taking roughly 10 seconds to process. For example when I select Auth.net AIM here – http://take.ms/5Upxl
Clicking on that link just pulls in the gateway details from the database within an ajax request and builds out the payment method selected on the page. It does not require much processing but your server seems to be struggling to respond as I continue to make the same request.
Sometimes I’m getting .5 second responses from the same steps, but for the majority 10-15 seconds. This would normally mean the server is under high load and the quick responses are when the load drops for a brief period of time.
If you go to Event Espresso -> Maintenance -> System information.
In there search for wp_memory and note the value set, then search for memory_limit and note both the values set for that.
Post all of those values here.

Can you provide some more information here please?
What/where are you searching and what happens?
Again if the server is struggling then searches on the database will take longer than expected and possibly hit the max_execution_time limit set you your server.
and other issues are forcing my hand to try something new.
