I know this topic has been asked and answered and the threads regarding it have been closed. https://eventespresso.com/topic/ical-feed-to-pull-events-from-google-calendar/ I was just wondering if anyone had found a resolution or “work around” for this issue. Here’s my problem. I, like Scott Ludtke, am trying to use EE4 to import and display events from my google calendar via ics. Currently I am using a dual plugin approach between EE4 and All-In-One Calendar from Time.ly but there are conflicts between the two plugins and I would much rather use a single plugin approach to avoid problems. Is it possible to utilize Event Espresso’s API to gain the ability to view google calendars? Please help!
You would need to map out all the data that is output from a google calendar ics file, then map out all the data that EE4 needs to create an event. Then map out all the linkages from the one data set to the other. Then write a tool in php to do the processing. Then wrap it in a WP plugin framework to add the admin interfaces. It’s definitely a doable project, it’s just a question of costs and priorities. Our development team is maxed out right now writing modules and add-ons to add in functionality into EE4 that was present in EE3. If you would like to hire a third party developer to build such a functionality module, we have a recommended list here.
As someone who develops in PHP, WP, and EE, I’m curious how much you or others would pay to have such an add-on developed, or how much you would pay if it was already packaged and available?
