I found a post which explained how to adjust the email message settings so that it was always the organisation email and not the event author. I also did this for the custom messages I created.
However someone who just booked a ticket sent an email to me at the test address (i.e. my admin email) and not the company email address in the settings. I have been though the messages and can’t see where the event author shortcode might be – how did they manage this?
Yes I did and I just went through the two custom templates again to check that [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL] doesn’t appear anywhere – it doesn’t. I changed the shortcode in all cases to [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL]. I updated the shortcodes for the default messages as well to prevent the Event Author appearing in the From field but I’m lost as to where this has appeared in the email.
Ok I think I have found it: in the registration email there are two sections, ‘connect with this event’ and ‘connect with us’. http://screencast.com/t/kIeXm32P
If I roll over the email address for ‘connect with this event’ it says events@xxx but does in fact send it to me. The other ‘connect with us’ sends it to the correct address which is the organisation settings. I checked the template and although the shortcode is the same: http://screencast.com/t/HAbNdlgdnM if I check the code it is in fact sending to the event author: http://screencast.com/t/Q93bhtf3L
You correctly pointed out the the content of the link was being generated using [CO_EMAIL] but the actual link address was still using [EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL]
