I just upgraded to EE4 and in doing so now when I try to go to my website or the login page I get this error what should I do?
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare espresso_version() (previously declared in /home3/houstonr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/espresso.php:49) in /home3/houstonr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/espresso.php on line 35

Hi there Marc,
This can happen if you activate Event Espresso 4 while Event Espresso 3 is running. Event Espresso 4 should automatically deactivate which should prevent this error.
In the latest version of Event Espresso 3, we’ve added a more thorough check.
To get back on track, you’ll need to login to your site using an SFTP or FTP client and then rename the Event Espresso folder:
/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg
event-espresso-core-reg –> event-espresso-core-reg1
That will deactivate Event Espresso 4 and you’ll be able to access your site again.
If you are not familiar with an SFTP / FTP client like Cyberduck or FileZilla, then we can do this from our end with a temporary hosting panel or cpanel login. You can share that privately here:

Note that we cannot correct this with a WP admin (WP dashboard) login. We will need either a SFTP / FTP login or a cpanel login.
