I’ve tried assigning a ticket to my event datetime but it gives me this error.

Fatal error: Call to a member function start_date_and_time() on null in /nas/content/staging/swimdemo/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/caffeinated/admin/new/pricing/espresso_events_Pricing_Hooks.class.php on line 487

Hi there,

Is this on a new or existing event?

If it’s an existing event how many tickets and datetimes do you have in that event currently?

The error above means there EE can’t find a datetime on the ticket but there should always be at least one datetime on any ticket.

it is an existing event and i tried to create new event as well to address the issue but the error still occurs.

i have 15 tickets in one event and 80 datetimes

With that amount of datetimes/tickets you’re most likely your hitting the max_input_vars setting on your server.

You can check the current value by navigating to Event Espresso -> Maintenance -> System information

Search max_inpt_vars and see what value is set.

Then increase that value (double it) and see if the problem above stops.

You can increase the max_input_vars value within your sites .htaccess file:

https://www.a2hosting.co.uk/kb/developer-corner/php/using-php-directives-in-custom-htaccess-files/setting-the-max-input-vars-directive-in-an-htaccess-file

If you are unsure, contact your host and ask them to increase the value for you.

1000 is the default value in PHP anyway, so nothing will change.

Try 2000 or 3000.

Also, when you change the value, confirm the change actually applies by checking in Event Espresso -> Maintenance -> System Information and confirm the value updates for max_input_vars
