We will be posting our first hybrid event (On Zoom and in person at the same time.) I tested setting up 2 EE events with different IDs. Then setting up an event post so people can register, with both of those IDs listed, so both event registration options were shown on the screen. I thought this would allow us to have 2 different registration lists and different registration questions. I’m wondering if there are any disadvantages/other advantages to this method? I’m guessing I could also set up different tickets under one event ID, but then they would share a registration list and have the same questions. Any advantages/disadvantages to this method? Or do you have other recommendations? Thank you! |

Hi there,
So, just to clarify, you used 2 separate events within EE and then used the [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR] shortcode twice on a page (once for each of the events), correct? Are you allowing people to register onto both at the same time or chose between ticket or zoom? (When I read that back it sounds like a strange question to ask, but I’ve seen it before so wanted to check) The disadvantage to using 2 separate events for a related event is that you can’t share ticket limits between the events, however, that doesn’t sound like it will be an issue for this, right?
I think you’ll lose more than you gain if you combine this into a single event. You can separate out the registrations using 2 datetimes (one fo the ticket event and one for the zoom event) which allows you to separate the registrations lists but you lose the ability to ask different questions here as we do no currently support asking specific questions based on ticket. |

Is there a way to limit someone from registering to both Zoom and in person? I didn’t think anyone would choose that, unless they were registering a friend. We don’t need to share ticket limits, so that is not an issue. Thanks for your feedback! This is helpful. |

Not currently, we don’t any ‘conditional logic’ within EE at this time. You could hook into the registration process and check for a registration with the current email address already on the event and then reject it if needed, but it will need custom development to do it. |
