I’ve looked at a couple of the support items around primary registrant and attendees… but couldn’t quite find the answer I was looking for.
I have EE on a site taking registrations for training courses. Sometimes the person booking the course is not an attendee. I’ve added extra fields that only the primary registrant sees for billing purposes… but the transaction is still recorded against the first attendee’s details.
How can I set it so that the Primary Registrant recorded is using the new custom fields?

You can’t, EE will always use the system questions for the Primary Registrant and that registrant is considered the user that is managing the payments.
You can use custom questions to capture another payee’s details and then use those values in the emails to similate an additional primary registrant that you use for payments, but the real Primary registrant is always considered to be the user that is handling payments in EE.
