When students sign up for my courses using event expresso they are getting a payment received message, registration successful message, and a pending payment message. How do I make it pending payment registration message is not sent.

When I look at the event IN EE4 I see there is a list of message types and to the left of pending payment there is a drop down box. The only option is global. I don’t know how to make is send nothing. Can i delete the global pending payment message type to accomplish this?

Hi there,

No you can not delete the global pending payment message, you can de-activate that message type but it should not be necessary if your users are being Approved straight away (either by paying or you are using a Default Registration Status of Approved).

Which payment method are these users using on your event?

I’m using payment via authorize.net I got a email for approved registration and approved payment immediately when signing up. 40 minutes later I got a registration pending payment email which would be confusing to the students as its saying your registration in pending and is directing them to pay.

I don’t know how to answer your question about using default registration status of approved, doesn’t sound like what I’m doing.

They have to pay before spot is reserved.

Hey Ted, what you can do is go to Event Espresso > Messages > Message Settings, then drag the pending payment message over to the “Inactive Message Types” box:
