Hello,

When an attendee confirms a payment with an online payment method (Mollie in my case) the payment is not automatically set as “paid”. How can I do this. Now I have to do this by hand everytime…

Kind regard,
Miet

Hi Miet,

That should just happen automatically by default, you should not need to enable any options.

If you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Critical Pages.

Does it show ‘Page Status OK’ and ‘Shortcode OK’ for all of the critical pages?

Looking over your event, if I select the Mollie iDeal payment method I’m directed to a different site other than Mollie.com

Has someone altered the payment method?

You mean this? bcr.girogate.be

I don’t know why that is, but we receive all the payments correctly… Only the payment status isn’t updated automatically…

Correct, usually you’ll be directed to Mollie.com, not that site.

I don’t know why that is, but we receive all the payments correctly…

Receive the payments correctly, where?

Only the payment status isn’t updated automatically…

I’m going to double check with our developer who created the Mollie payment method and confirm, but I’ve not seen mollie.com direct the user straight to another domain, so I don’t think this is the default behavior.

If that’s the case, the payment method will be trying to contact mollie.com to confirm the payment…. but the user apparently isn’t using mollie.com so they don’t know of any payment, meaning it wont update in EE.

Have you been working with a developer to setup/customize EE?

We receive the payments in our mollie account and later on our bank account. So it seems that mollie receives the payments correctly and pays them to us.

I will also contact mollie about this case, maybe they will be able to help…

I contacted Mollie. Here you find a transcription of the chat. I translated it with google, so the translation might not be very good. But I hope you understand what is said…

Bazarts vzw (4472484): Hi Mollie, I use event espresso to register participants for courses and workshops. I used mollie as payment method, I only use bancontact. Now I notice that when someone makes a payment via bancontact, I have to adjust the payment status of the subscription in my back office manually and that this does not automatically get the status “paid”. According to the support team of event espresso, this is because the payment is redirected to bcr.girogate.be and not to a mollie.com site. Do you have an idea how I can solve this problem?
Martin: Good afternoon! I will take a look for you, a moment.
Martin: In principle we give the status of a payment through our webhooks. This is actually separate from the payment being redirected to bcr.girogate.be. Does event espresso manage the link with Mollie?
Bazarts vzw (4472484): I do not know, they have an addon for mollie, which I have installed
Martin: In that case, I want to ask you if they can contact us about this. If you have withdrawn payments on our platform, you can provide a webhook URL. We then call these when there is a change in the payment status.
Martin: Because Event Espresso manages this itself, they should be able to see for themselves where this goes wrong.
Martin: Can I help you with something else?
Bazarts vzw (4472484): No, I will pass it on and hope for a quick solution.
Martin: Very good. Good day!

Hmm, ok, thank you for contacting them.

I’ve not seen that specific workflow with Mollie before but if your getting the payments into Mollie and they didn’t mention it wasn’t the ‘normal’ workflow above its just a setup I haven’t seen as of yet.

I’ll need to take a quick look over the payment logs on your site, would that be ok?
