Our organization is concerned about hacker’s making off with the event registration data. Can that data be secured, in particular, can it be encrypted? If you do not offer that ability do you recommend an encryption plugin that will work with Event Expresso? If that is ‘negative’ can you recommend how to secure the registration data though other techniques?
Encrypting the data is all well and good but if you are looking for plugins to do that you are likely starting from the wrong place here. To explain, the site needs to be able to access and decrypt the data to display it, correct?
Which then means your site needs to be able to decrypt the data from the database using the/a key, if your site and database are stored on the same server it’s likely if someone had access to your DB they had access to the site… and therefor the key(s) to decrypt the data…
I’m not saying this isn’t possible but there is much more involved to this than what we can work through here, it depends on how your server(s) are set and how you are going to encrypt the data from there etc
