Hi, I just bought EE3 and now I want to install the Swedish language pack. Thankful for quick response! Regards, |
Hi Andreas, you can add the language files here: /wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages — |

Hi Lorenzo! Thank you for a very quick reply. Regards, |
Hi Andreas, this version should be used: http://translate.eventespresso.com/projects/event-espresso/sv/event-espresso-sv_SE Then the site should be set to Swedish via the wp-config.php file or through the General Settings page. If WordPress is already in Swedish, then it should begin to show Swedish, once those language files are in place. — |

Hi again Lorenzo, I checked out the URL you provided, but it seem not to contain the link to download the correct Swedish files. I have downloaded the .po and .mo files and uploaded them according to the instructions as well as I have made sure to change WordPress (v4.1.2) to Swedish, which are done through General Settings. Unfortunately still nothing happens. What could be wrong? Thank you in advance for support! ~Andreas |

Hi Andreas, The files you should have should be named event_espresso-sv_SE.po They do indeed go in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages You can change the language in WP settings, but you will still need to update your wp-content.php file so that the This link http://translate.eventespresso.com/projects/event-espresso/sv/event-espresso-sv_SE will allow you to download the most up to date versions (Bottom right Export link but make sure you have selected PO or MO) but you will need to rename the files as they are not correctly named. |

Hi Dean! Thank you for your response! I can however not find any file called wp-content.php. I am running WordPress version 4.1.2, could it have changed? Thank you for quick response! ~Andreas |
Hi Andreas, that was a typo. It would be the wp-config.php file and you may need to add that macro if it doesn’t appear in the file. The middle of the file is a safe location to add it: define(‘WPLANG’, ‘sv_SE’); — |

Hi Lorenzo, unfortunately that did not help. Regards, |
Hi Andreas, Can you send a copy of the .po file you are using to support[at]eventespresso.com please? I’d like to take a closer look. Please include a link within the email to this thread so that we know what the email is referencing. |

Hi Andreas, The file you sent is not actually a PO file, which is why this isn’t working. If you go to this page – http://translate.eventespresso.com/projects/event-espresso/sv/event-espresso-sv_SE Then at the bottom right click ‘Export’ – http://take.ms/pBzG6 That will download the .PO file. Rename that file to event_espresso-se_SE.po You’ll need to install POEdit to edit PO files. That will allow you to edit your translations. When you open the file in POEdit it will look like this – http://take.ms/yLdz9z If you then do File -> Save, a .MO file will be created in the same directory as the PO File – http://take.ms/WIfB1 You can then use the .MO file within wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/ .PO files are for you to make the translations. .MO files are for WordPress to use your translations. Here are the files I used to make the above – http://take.ms/5TYux |
