How to delete a registration within an event

I’m just wondering how to go about deleting a registration within an event. I have a participant that no longer wants to attend an event and I would like to delete that registration to open up a spot for another participant. Please let me know. Thanks

Hi Nora,

You don’t need to delete the registration to open up anether spothe but you can if you prefer. You can simply change the registration status to anything other than ‘Approved’

If you go to Event Espresso -> Registrations.

Find the registration and click to edit.

At the top you should see multiple buttons that allow you to set the status of the registration. Setting the registration to ‘Cancelled’ will open up a spot within the event. Would that work?

To delete the registration you’ll need to delete all payments within the transaction and then trash the registration from within the list. I can provide further details on deleting the payment if you prefer this method?

I have already received an email back about this topic. I was wondering if you could tell me how to completely delete the registration and not just cancel it? Thanks.

Hi Nora,

Event Espresso locks down certain information when a registration is made. You can delete it but you’ll need to complete these steps:

1) Go to the transaction for this registration (Event Espresso –> Transactions and click on specific transaction) and remove any payments.

2) Go to the registration for the event (Event Espresso –> Registrations) and trash it. Then permanently delete it and it will be removed.
