I’ve just updated from EE3 to EE4.4.7. I wish I could remember where I came across this when experimenting, but somewhere I found this listed about a particular class: “January 17, 2015 12:00 pm – January 17, 2015 6:00 pm (America/Chicago).” Do you know where that would have been displayed? The reason I ask is because, if I were a registrant for a class, I’d be confused and might wonder, “but I thought this class was being held in St. Paul, MN, not Chicago, IL.” So, is there a way to display this as “America/St. Paul” (or at least “America/Minneapolis”), as Chicago, although it is in the same time zone, is something like 600 miles away. |
Hi, Event Espresso 4 uses the city / region that is set in the General Settings page in your WP Dashboard: WP-admin –> Settings –> General This value is used to calculate the correct times for your events. — |

I see what you mean. While Minneapolis-St. Paul is in the same time zone as Chicago, as I mentioned, it’s nowhere near the “Twin Cities.” Is there any way in EE4 to make it less confusing for registrants? Could some CSS code be added, not necessarily to replace, but at least to clarify the true location? |

Hi John, It’s on the invoice/receipt and honestly there isn’t an easy way to remove it barring modifying the file. I’ll add a request to see if we can add a filter or somesuch to be able to remove that. |

Thank you, Dean. |
Hi John, I just wanted to let you know that in the next version of Event Espresso (EE4.5+) we’ve moved the Invoice and Receipts into the Messages system, what this means is you can edit/remove sections of either of those from within the Admin. This allows you to easily remove the timezone from the Invoices to prevent the confusion and/or even add your own static text in its place with your timezone if you prefer. Currently within 4.4.x the timezone should only be displayed within the ‘Order confirmation’ |

Thank you, Tony. I couldn’t remember where I’d seen the time zone city, but I had copied and pasted the info into a text file, for future reference. Now I just have to remember what to do when the next version comes out. If you don’t mind, let’s leave this one as unresolved until I get it done. |
Hi, we’ll update this support post once 4.5 is available so you can update. — |

Good idea, Orlando. That’s exactly what I’ll need to call my attention to the update when it’s released. |
