I couldn’t find any way to do this but find it hard to believe this would be a reality –
Is it really not possible to change an attendee’s invoice amount upward (eg. $100 to $150) AND is it also not possible to change them to a different ticket once they’ve registered?
You can cancel the existing registration and then create a new one through Event Espresso –> Events. Then hover over the name of the event and click on Registrations.
On the next page, click on Add New Registration and then complete the registration. You may want to remove the option to send registration details (yellow box).
Then go to the transactions screen and add a payment for the full amount
with a description of:
Event Admin – adjustment – switching ticket
Then you can send the new registration to the attendee/registration and apply the payment.
If you only need to change the pricing of a ticket, then you can use the payment option to increase or decrease the amount owed by the registrant.
Wow, it wouldn’t be easier to just delete the ticket from the registration and add a new one? Something to think about. Shocked that this isn’t possible.
Also, there’s a bug when adding a negative payment, which is apparently the only way to adjust the invoice upwards – it sends notification to the customer as a refund. It’s in fact the OPPOSITE of a refund, and this would confuse any customer.
Using a negative value is a workaround to adjust the pricing. For example, if you needed to add an additional charge. You can remove the checkmark from the send messages option and it should update the pricing without sending a message.
If you need a different ticket option, then it would be better to cancel the registration and add a new one.
