I’m in the final stages of the project and was setting up all the little stuff. I have figured most parts out but can’t add coupon codes for my event. How do I do that ?

Hi there,

It turns out that promo codes are not an included feature in Event Espresso 4. We’re working on a promotion code add-on, but it is not finished yet. When it’s ready, I’ll update this thread.

Ah no. I read that this feature was coming sometime last year. I thought it’s already done. Do you have a rough estimate of when we can expect this (days, weeks, months ?) and are there any work around or we should look for another solution to get the codes working.

I can’t switch EE3 since I need some of the features of EE4

Thanks, looking at the changelog I can see you guys are hard at work so I’m not complaining just want to figure out what the best way to solve this

Hi there,

I’m sorry, I don’t have a estimate or a workaround for adding promo codes in EE4. As it stands, EE3 is currently our only supported solution that includes promo codes.

I know this was only updated a couple weeks ago, but man… this is a big bummer. Definitely a +1 for me on adding this feature!

Promo codes are coming to EE4, it’s just we can’t provide a time scale, but it is something high up on our agenda.

Starting today, current support license holders can opt in to the pre-release channel and download the Event Espresso 4.7 and Promotion add-on pre-releases.

We’d love to get your feedback on some of the new promotion features and changes that we’ve been working on. These include:

  • New interface for managing promocodes
  • Promo code discounts now apply to entire order instead of per ticket
  • Promo code generator
  • Automatic (non-promo-code) discounts
  • Discounts limited by quantity
  • Discounts limited by start date and end date
  • A widget for displaying non-promo-code discounts
  • A shortcode for displaying non-promo-code discounts
Important: The Event Espresso 4 promotions add-on will activate only if Event Espresso 4.7 is active. This means you’ll need to install the Event Espresso 4.7 pre-release before installing the promotions add-on.

If you haven’t already opted into Event Espresso’s pre-release channel, you can go to your account page and check the box to opt in to the pre-release channel. Once you opt in, the download files will be available under the EE4 tab under the Pre Release Downloads heading.

You can find out more information about in the pre-release channel guide.

If you have feedback about Promotions or the 4.7 release, please reply to that Promotions announcement or start another new topic.
