I have an event in the Pacific time zone starting at 8:00am Pacific. I have built the event from a site in the Mountain Time zone and specified a venue in the Pacific time zone, but the iCal link on the registration approved email loads the event at 7:00am. The WordPress Settings are set to a Mountain time zone city.
Any ideas if/how to set the time for a venue or is that automatic for the location? Any help appreciated.
We don’t currently have an option to set timezones per event/venue, EE should use the timezone set within Dashboard -> Settings -> General -> Timezone for all date/times.
Is the iCal the only output that is not correct? For example are the datetimes shown on the front end correct?
One day, Event Espresso could have a multiple timezone feature. Until then, work-arounds exist to work around the lack of multiple timezone features. One workaround you could use would be to set a custom field on the event located in the Pacific timezone. e.g. set the key as event_timezone and value Pacific, like in this screenshot: https://slack-files.com/T02SY781D-FDM0A5DCZ-d2e7077af7
Then, you’ll add the following PHP code to your site:
What that will do is add a one hour offset on ical times for events that set Pacific for that custom field.
