I updated the plugin & added the wait list extension for testing. I’m not sure how to test if EE will be able to handle our registrations issues because I can’t replicate the load via testing.
How does the wait listing work? Right now, I have it showing as ‘sold out’ if all spaces in a ticket are gone (see here). Ideally, we’d like the waitlisting to happen in 2 ways:
1) We’ve had problems with overselling tickets. Rather than overselling, it would be better if they were added to a wait list.
2) For closed tickets, it would be great if people could add themselves to a waitlist. Since we do class registrations, we have a drop/add period so people on a waitlist are sometimes able to get into closed out classes.
The way the wait list add-on works is it will display a “Sign Up for the Wait list” button if all of the ticket options are sold out. Since your event has many available ticket options you will not see a wait list button displayed. If you want to make use of the Wait list add-on you could break those individual ticket options out into separate events (the Multi Event Registration add-on would allow for adding several different classes to a cart before checkout).
There’s more information about the Wait List add-on in the documentation:
OK, thanks for clarifying. It does not have any use for us then, I’ll just skip it entirely.
