WordPress = Version 3.9.1
Event Espresso = Version 3.1.36.5.P

I must be missing something. I have looked in all the documents on event espresso and in the forums.

We had a website using Braintree. Users would come to our site book an event and then put in their payment info. Then we could charge them AFTER they attended the event.

Now we use PAYPAL and I am unsure how we charge people AFTER the event.

Can you please send me a link or explain?

Hi William,

It depends on how you have set this up.

Did the user register and choose the invoice payment (in order to not pay)? If so they can use the link on the invoice to go to the payment screen and then choose PayPal.

If you actually have their payment details and for example a PayPal Pro account you could enter there details (from the same invoice link), but be aware that this may or may not be legal in your area.

If you are just using PayPal then the customer would need to make the payment.

So if I use something like STRIPE and secure the website (which I already have wiht a UC SANS CERTIFICATION) then I could charge people automatically after they attend the event right?

I could require their payment info when they sign up right?

Hi William,

Event Espresso does not support the gateways in the way you are describing. Online payments would be taken instantly.

However If the user selected Invoice as a payment option, within the on line invoice they would see a ‘Pay Now’ link which will then allow them to pay for the event with whichever active payment methods you have enabled at that time.

Event Espresso does not store any of the users payment details (card details) to allow you to process a payment at a later date.
