We use EE 4 and it is fully upgraded. We sell workshops on the website that span several days, and attendees can register for which days they prefer to attend. But the ORDER is placed by another billing person. We need to ask for the Billing person’s name, email, address, PO# and other info for processing the order. We use the Invoice payment type only. The only way I could figure out how to do this is by adding custom questions to the Attendee 1 information. But this is VERY confusing since the billing person is not really the attendee. They are just registering a group of a bunch of other attendees from their organization. Is there any way to just have separate billing contact fields outside of the Attendee details? I don’t see anything for this in Invoice settings. It seems like a basic type of request. Is this only available with payment gateways? Or does EE always have to grab from the Attendee 1 fields? |
Hi Sandy, could you take a look at this idea for handling billing? https://eventespresso.com/topic/custom-shortcode-in-invoicing-templates/#post-144821 — |

Lorenzo, Thank you for your suggestion. The suggestion for the invoice email is helpful, but it does not really solve our problem on the front end for the registrants. We also have a similar situation to the example in your link – a secretary or admin is registering a bunch of other people. So they are the primary contact person. And it is very confusing for the contact person’s details to be looped under “Attendee 1” section – they are NOT attending the event. They are just the registration contact person who handles the billing and getting people to the event. Is there any way to do something like: a) Change the headings that say Attendee 1 to something else? We really prefer option b, so the school administrator who is registering everyone can enter their info first (or last) and input the attendee names separately. |
Hi Sandy, we can share some sample code that will change attendee 1 to say something else but keep in mind that this will be a verbiage/messaging change. It will not change how Event Espresso handles primary registrants and additional registrants. Did you still want to go ahead? The second option that you described is not available at this time. — |

Hi Lorenzo. Yes please send me the sample code you are referring to for updating the Attendee 1 section title. I mostly need to ensure that this is less confusing for the buyer. |
Hi Sandy, I have this working on my end: http://cl.ly/image/121e3N2z1t1W Could you please share any event on your site? I’ll need to see your registration checkout page so I can update this sample code snippet to run only on that page. Otherwise, it will run sitewide. Thanks — |

http://dev.margaretkilgo.com/events/analytics-data-workshops-austin-sept-21-23/ Here is one example event. I think this is a change we will want to make to all events, so keep that in mind. Once I get your sample code I imagine our programming team can determine how it works. Thank you. |
Thanks Sandy, your registration checkout page ID is 149. One of the easiest way to check is to look for a body class while on the page: http://cl.ly/image/0j3K2K2T3n2i Note, that the page ID will vary from site to site. This should work: https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/4be687c7c9fcb6b779e4 Be sure to change 123 to 149. — |
