Hi Everyone,
I’m not sure if there is a thread on this already, but I figured this might be a place to start. I hired a contractor to build some registration software. The end result is that he installed event espresso, which i like so far (although after i found out about the program I see that it is much less expensive than what I paid him to make me a program). I plan on keeping this program and getting rid of the contractor, unfortunately event espresso does not match the aesthetics of my current website.
Are there any designers out there that have worked with event espresso before. I’d prefer to hire someone that has worked with this before to ensure that this goes smoothly because I don’t trust my current contractor to get this job done. I’ve done a lot of work on my end to get it to where it is now, it looked much worse when the contractor gave it to me. I have a limited knowledge of this stuff so I’ve done all that I can up to this point. The biggest thing I want is to have the checkout page redesigned. I’m currently using PayPal advanced and want that integrated into the page.
If anyone could point me out to some good espresso designers that would be awesome. Thank you all.

Hi Amber,
I can suggest to reach out to codeable.io.
I would recommend looking for someone who has payment gateway integration experience for the PayPal advanced integration, that’s typically a different skillset than the graphic design/CSS end of things. That’s more on the development side of things.

I’ve located a few candidates. One of my candidates is definitely familiar with PayPal advanced but not as much with Espresso. Before I have her investigate the the plugin, is it possible to do an advanced paypal setup. I see there is a standard setup and a pro setup. Naturally she will have to tweak it if there isn’t a setup or I guess what I’m asking is if others have had success setting up PayPal advanced. Advanced is a much more affordable option given that its $5 a month versus $30 for PayPal pro.

PayPal Advanced is not one of the payment options that comes standard with Event Espresso. It would need to be developed as a custom gateway. I am not aware of anyone else developing a custom PayPal advanced gateway in the past. Sometimes when this happens, the developer will share the code with us and we will roll it into Event Espresso as a new feature and we will maintain it.
If your developer has built custom gateways for other WordPress plugins, especially for the PayPal advanced gateway, I would imagine this would be possible to build one that will work with Event Espresso. It would probably be helpful to look at the existing gateways to see how they were integrated with Event Espresso first.
As with any custom gateway, it should be placed in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways folder so that it does not get overwritten when the software is updated.
One other note, we do offer custom gateway development when we have the availability. One benefit of having us build the gateway is we will keep it updated to be compatible with changes to Event Espresso. Our availability is very limited though right now. If the PayPal advanced gateway is something you can wait for a bit, it might be an option worth considering.

I also got the event espresso pro version and I also would love to integrate plugin with paypal Advanced. May I ask from you that are you planning to integrate this a payment option in coming version or is there a technical difficulty you are having about this.

We are not as yet implementing Paypal Advanced in the next version (3.1.27), or to my knowledge in the upcoming overhaul (3.2).
