I have latest version 4.7.10p running – the Event Espresso plugin in using 65% or so of the memory loading. It takes 4+ seconds to load the plugin every time. I only have two events going currently. This has not been a problem before, been running EE4 for nearly a year. Why would the memory usage be so dramatically higher now? It’s causing my site to slow to a crawl and error out. Transportationclubofatlanta.com is the site. Thanks for your thoughts. |
Hi Matt, what tools (e.g. P3 performance profile) are you using to track the memory usage? Does it immediately drop if Event Espresso 4 is temporarily deactivated? — |
Yes, using P3 to track memory usage and also WP-Memory Usage. EE4 ON, SITE MEMORY USAGE AT 80.65MB (out of 90MB): EE4 OFF, SITE MEMORY USAGE AT 59.87MB (OUT OF 90MB) EE4 is talking over 3.5 seconds to load. |
Which version of Event Espresso did you update from, before you noticed the memory usage going up Matt? |
I am sorry, I don’t recall. It’s been slow for about 2 weeks though. I will try upgrading to 4.8.4 today. |
Depending on which version you updated from, and whether or not your site gets hit by spam bots a lot, this could be Event Espresso cleaning up some expired transients and transactions that were not started by humans. It will run the script each time there’s a page load. This will eventually taper off once those are cleaned up. |
