I’m on a godaddy server with:

Physical Memory 2048
CPU 2
I/O 2048
Files 250000
Entry Processes 150.

I ran the P3 plugin and event espresso came in using 50% of resources.

Hi there,

Can you try contacting your host and ask them if they know if there’s a specific process causing your site to go down?

They can’t get me any more specific information on processes causing these issues. What are my options to get this resolved? I had to purchase 2 upgrades to the server just to allow the site to load. And it’s still on the slower side.

You could move the site to one of the recommended hosts listed here:

My server meets the requirements needed to run Event Espresso. Why should I change servers?

How do you know that the server meets the requirements when as you say you “had to purchase 2 upgrades to the server just to allow the site to load”? Normally Event Espresso will still work okay on a cheap shared host (not exactly recommended), but as long as the server is configured correctly it won’t be that slow.

I ran the requirements plugin before installation and passed everything. I’m not looking for a debate, I’m looking to resolve this issue. If event espresso can run on a “cheap shared host” than it should work fine on my clients server.

Could it be an issue with the installation? Should I try uninstalling and re-installing?

I’m sorry that you feel like this is a debate. It’s not, we don’t recommend hosting on Godaddy and if you look within the requirements plugin that you downloaded, you’ll find this code:

if (!$is_curl_valid || $is_iis || $is_godaddy || !$is_php_mem_ok || !$has_recommended_wordpress || !$has_mod_security || !$has_max_upload) {
	$is_warn = true;
}

It’s possible the requirements plugin needs to be updated so it does a better job checking for whether the site is hosted on Godaddy.

To answer your question, I don’t think it could be an issue with the installation, you can try uninstalling and re-installing, and I still advise moving away from Godaddy.

The requirements plugin runs a few basic checks and should not be taken as the final authority on whether a particular server is right for Event Espresso. You’ll also note that on the requirements page we specifically mention that Event Espresso will not function as expected on Godaddy hosting.
