Hi guys. I’m currently setting up this page http://www.amsn.com.au/seminars I wish to have one or 2 events that are listed in a particularly cataogory not appear on my main page with all the other events but rather appear on their own page. I have figured out how to have an event appear on its own page but not how to hide it on the page that contains the [event essprosso ] shortcode. I’m guessing that I should put the [event esspresso tag on a hidden page ] ( i understand its important for the running of the plugin that this tag appears at least somewhere ? ) but im still unsure what i shortcode i should place on the seminar page. im sorry to bother you i did play around for hours and im a bit nervous about making an changes as people will be enrolling very soon kind regards |

Hi Brent, We don’t have any exclude paramaters for the main shortcodes. What I would suggest is using Categories. So you set up the events to have X category and any ones you want to appear on separate pages have their own different category. Then on each page you will add the shortcode [EVENT_LIST category_identifier=XXX] where XXX is the category identifier. This will only show events from that category. You can use that shortcode on different pages, just change the category identifier to the correct one. |
Hi brent, Can I ask how your displaying the single events? Is it using the [SINGLEEVENT] shortcode or within a list? |

Hi Tony and Dean, Thanks for your help once again. I will try your suggestions now and let you know how I go. |

mmmmmm I didnt quite get there. i set up the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] on a separate page that was not available on the menu bar at the top but in no other ways hidden I then added 2 catagories on the previous page ( seminars )that used to have the esspresso events shortcode. it looked great and i could see the 2 catagories of events listed but when i tried the register button nothing happened. |
Hi brent, [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] is the shortcode used for one of Event Espresso’s core pages, if you place this on another page then you must select that page within Event Espresso -> General Settings. ‘Main Registrations Page’. However, if you just wish to remove these events from the event list and calendar you can use the ‘Waitlist’ feature. Waitlist events are NOT displayed on the event list/calendar by default but you can display those events using the [SINGLE_EVENT] shortcode. So set the event/s you wish to hide to a wiatlist event (Edit the event, event options on the right http://d.pr/i/ossf) then where you want to display that event, just add that events SINGLE_EVENT shortcode (by clicking the shortcode button under the title http://d.pr/i/kBg0 – copy and past that shortcode onto the page you wish to display the event) Hope that helps. |

Cheers tony I did stumble on that little trick of using the waitlist and then a single event shortcode but i was nervous to try it in case in had implications in enrollment confirmations etc. I think that will be the best work around for my problem. i dont want to move the main registration page with the amound of emails i sent out and things it may cause some dead links. lets call this issue resolved. thanks again π |
