So here is a brief outline of what my client needs and for the most part, I think I can figure it all out if I know how to turn things on an off in a shorcode (see my other annoying questions from today)
They have 2 basic Categories: Events & Workshops
*some of which require the purchase of a ticket, other’s dont
Under each of these there are sub categories; Clay, Writing, Performance, Film
*and under these there are sub categories: Ongoing-clay-studio, Beginning Clay Class,
*some of these are ongoing and some of them are one-offs, some require tickets and some dont
AND sometimes they want to be able to show a combination of Event & Workshops based on Sub Categories (All Clay based things, All film based things) and sometimes they want to show All Clay Based Things that require Ticket Purchases.
How do you recommend I start to structure this mess?
You can set multiple categories on an event and use a specific category to display a filtered list via shortcodes. So for example if you need a page to show Writing workshops that have ticket selectors you can set the events to a category like writing-tickets.
Brilliant. Its like a puzzle!
Thanks Josh!
You guys ROCK!
