We have 6 categories. We use one page to display the Calendar using the shortcode [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR] We need to only display 5 categories out of the 6.
The sixth category is used for private events that we need to send links to customers to register for who were invited to the private event by the main customer.
Because I can’t find a solution to “Hide a specific Event from Calendar” , we are trying to figure out how to “Hide a Category” from the calendar.
Since we only use ONE page to display our FULL Calendar, we must find a way to either ”
A- Hide specific events from calendar”
OR
B- Hide a specific category from our “Full Calendar”
I see the shortcode [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR event_category_id=”your_category_id”] but not sure if there is a way to add all 5 categories to this shortcode.
I tried this shortcode [ESPRESSO_CALENDAR event_category_id=”private-parties,art-camps,sips-swirls,adult-classes,youth-classes”]
It shows the calendar with all of those categories, HOWEVER it is still pulling in the Category “Private-Invited-Only” , EVEN Though that slug is NOT included in my shortcode
I also tried changing the Category slug to “Invited-Only” just in case it was still pulling in that category because of the similar word of “PRIVATE”. Same problem. It is displaying every single category instead of only the categories included in my shortcode.
Currently this is not included within the Calendar.
To achieve this I would recommend creating a ‘parent’ category. Say ‘Public’, assign any of the events that you would like to display to this category, as well as their individual categories (events can have as many categories as needed)
Then only public events will be displayed on the Calendar.
Does that help?
