Hi Julie,

The reason you go this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare espresso_version() (previously declared in /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/espresso.php:48) in /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso.3.1.21.P/espresso.php on line 35

Is because you can only active one version of Event Espresso at a time. EE3 OR EE4, it looks like you’ve actived both.

However you can not update from EE3.1.21.P straight to EE4, you need to be using the latest version of EE3 first (or a minimum of 3.1.36.P)

My website is now in complete maintemance mode and not accessible at all. I need help ASAP!

When you say complete maintenance mode do you mean just a whitescreen?

I took a look at your site.

To get the site back up and running you’ll need FTP access, or access to something like cPanel file manager. You should have been given details for these when you signed up with your hosting company.

Using FTP you’ll need to navigate to /wp-content/plugins/ and you’ll see a directory called ‘event-espresso-core-reg’ which will need to be renamed, this can be anything other than the current directory name. So ‘event-espresso-core-reg-temp’ will work, this will disable the EE4 plugin and your site will work as expected again.

If you are unsure how to do this you can either contact your hosting company and request they do it for you or if you purchase a priority support token we can do this for you, however we would still require the FTP details mentioned above to do so.
