HELP!!! I just moved my website site to a Linux server running PHP 5.3 and now EE is giving me warning messages. My host (GoDaddy) says it EE is not compatible with PHP 5.3. I NEED your plugin to be active and working ASAP. What can I do?? Thank you. |
Hello, Event Espresso 3 and up does work with PHP5.3. You may have WP debugging on. Do you see PHP warning appearing? If not, could you share more information about the messages that are being displayed. — |

Hey Lorenzo! I thought it worked. I’m not sure I believe what GoDaddy says anyway. They did have to disable the plugins on their end before I could login. This is the error message I’m getting when I’m trying to activate the plugin. |
|
“Warning: require_once(/home/content/redacted/html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/class/espresso_log.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/redacted/html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/espresso.php on line 229” Is this because GoDaddy disabled things on their end? I’m afraid I can’t get to the original error message or maybe this is it…

Thanks for the quick reply! Could you copy and paste the message into this post? — |

It’s above. Can you see it? |
Please add the following macro towards the middle of your wp-config.php file. It should replace any existing WordPress debugging macros. define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', FALSE); @ini_set('display_errors', FALSE); Then try reactivating Event Espresso through WP Plugins. Let me know if this helps. — |

Exactly where in the wp-config.php? Thanks. |
|
I have this line in my wp-config.php file: define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false); Do I need to replace this with the code you just sent? Again, many thanks! |
There may be a larger issue occurring here. I’d like to take a closer look at your plugin files. Could you securely share a temporary WordPress login and FTP login through the following link: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ Please be sure to confirm that you have check the login at the bottom of the form, otherwise you won’t be able to submit it. Thanks — |

Done. Thanks! |

I’ve been on the phone with GoDaddy and I think they’ve fixed it on their end. I’m not sure what they did and the guy I spoke with didn’t either since he had his “team” fix it. I did NOT choose GoDaddy, just for the record. 🙂 I’m going to conduct a mock registration and I’ll let you know how it works. Definitely let me know if you come upon anything else. Thank you! |
It might be best in the long run to migrate that site away from GoDaddy hosting. |

Hello again, I responded privately but I thought I’d post here. Please do let us know if its working as expected without the warning messages. Cheers — |

Will do! I agree with your previous response. 🙂 I didn’t make the initial choice. Be well and thank you! |
