I went into the ee promo codes section to look at a promo code and this error came up: |
Hi Paul, That does sounds like a formatting error. Where exactly is this issue coming up – promotional codes over view, editing a code or in the event itself? What browser are you using please? |
When I log into WP then click on the EE plugin then click on the Promotional Codes link the error comes up straight away. I had entered one promo code last week and just went in to add another when this error came up. |
Just tested it on one of our live events and the one promo code we have still does work. I just cant add or ammend any more promo codes as is. Man this is doin my head in, got an issue with the thank you page too – anyway thats another thread………….. |

Sorry i’m using Chrome. |
Hi Paul, I’ve seen this before and it turned out to be browser caching. Can you clear the browser cache and retest please. Here are instructions on clearing Chrome’s cache: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95582?hl=en I would start with theses settings http://d.pr/i/Pc1q |

Hey guys, OK i tried that but no luck. I also tried in IE 11 and Firefox, same result. |
Is it possible to get log-in details to investigate this further? Is so please send using https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ |

Details sent Tony. |
Hi Paul, Have you added any custom functions to add some CSS recently? Specifically: <style type="text/css"> a:hover { cursor:pointer; } </style> That is being added to the ajax response (plus other files) which is breaking the formatting. I’m unsure currently how/why that is being called. |
Yes I did because I was getting no hover cursor on the ‘Send me an Invoice’ link. It fixed that but looks like its stuffed up something else! |
I added that to the invoice_vars.php file. |
You’ll need to remove that and add it to a custom CSS file. I would recommend using a plugin such as My Custom CSS to include any addition CSS you may need. That should then fix the promo code issue. |
OK, thanks Tony for your time, not sure how to add a custom css file but i’ll give it a try with the link you’ve provided, cheers. |
The plugin I linked to will do it for you from the Admin. Once you install & activate that plugin you’ll see something like this http://d.pr/i/D5FG (I’ve already clicked the ‘My Custom CSS’ heading. Then just add your CSS there, like http://d.pr/i/6dPc Hit save. Remember to remove that rule from invoice_vars.php file to fix the promo codes. |

Thanks Tony, I can confirm 2 things – removing the code from the invoice_vars.php file fixed the promo code issue, and I added the Custom CSS plugin and added the code there as you suggested which now adds a hover cursor over my invoice link!! Wow what a trip this has been, cheers mate thanks heaps! |
No Problem ๐ Glad to help. |
