Hi, I just had WP Engine fix the caching for our site’s registration pages and I know I need to do the edit on the WordPress Heartbeat API as noted in this link (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-wpengine-hosting-event-espresso/) My only question is…where do I add that PHP code (what file?) I’m not sure where exactly to make the edit.

Thank you!

WPEngine will activate the Heartbeat API for you if you open a support ticket with them.

Thanks Josh, I did talk to them and they did but the tech support person told me I needed to do the second part of the info on the article (the workaround edits in PHP) myself. Or, do I need to do that at all now that they fixed the caching issue?

When I asked them to enable the Heartbeat API for my site that’s hosted on WPEngine, they just did it. The workaround posted in the article is not intended to be a permanent solution. You’ll still need the Heartbeat API activated in on your site to be able to use the Ticket editor in Event Espresso.

If they’re not going to help you with this, I suppose you can try their plugin:
