Event Espresso is designed to support one currency at a time. So, if you have events that you want to accept payments in CAD, you can change the Country of your organization and the currency will change (Event Espresso > General Settings > Your Organization tab). Change the country and save the page.
But Event Espresso will not process payments in multiple currencies simultaneously.
Hmm. I figured out some way to do this. Before. (But stopped using it for some reason.) I recall the “way” was all USD via Stripe and CAD via PayPal — something like that. And PayPal remits to my bank account converted to USD.
Again: I am in the US. Most customers want USD (no surprise). I also sell courses in CA, to some customers. And at least some prefer CAD.
Anyway: I would prefer a more elegant solution. Ex: I could use Stripe — charge in USD or CAD, by event, and Stripe pays me in USD (at least to my bank account). Stripe supports this.
Is that on your drawing board?
Any further comments?
The proper solution is pretty complicated. We have to account for currency types all throughout the interfaces, disallow multiple event registration so people can’t checkout simultaneously with events with mixed currencies, default ticket prices, and then of course the integration with payment gateways with a currency set per event.
