Hi Josh and Dean.

Brent here from

amsn.com.au

I have just noticed that since I updated by event esspresso my gst ( value added tax ) component has disappeared from my tax invoices.

I had a look through recent threads and the sound advice seems to be to upgrade to ee4.

However we use the NAB transact payment gateway for merchant facilities and the mail chimp integration is a pretty important feature.

So I guess my questions are
1. Do you have any estimate on when NAB transact direct will be supported ?

2. Any idea on mail chimp integration ?

cheers
Brent

Hi Brent,

You can use NAB Transact now via the Mijireh gateway. There are no plans to add a standalone NAB gateway to Event Espresso 4.

The Mailchimp integration continues to be under development and there has been good progress made on it. It will be released after development and testing is finished. We’ll likely be pre-releasing it into the pre-release channel along with a new alpha for Event Espresso 4 so they can be tested in advance.

In the meantime, it is possible to add GST to the invoice in Event Espresso 3 with a bit of template hacking.

Hi Josh,

thanks for your reply but I think thats a bit too advanced for me to try. I will try and wait out and hopefully mail chimp integration and promo code support should only be a matter of weeks ( I hope ) best of luck with the upgrades and I will let you get back to your work πŸ™‚

Thanks again for your prompt reply, really excited about what you guys are creating πŸ™‚

Hi Brent,

Mailchimp is expected to be ready soon. The promo system is going to take a while.

May I ask how you have your pricing set up. The reason I ask is we helped someone else who basically sets their price as GST inclusive, then a few edits to the invoice files were added to break out the GST part. Here’s another example:

Hi josh

I would like to have the GST calculated as sub-set on the price we already have. IE if we charge $400 dollars then the gst is 36.36 and does not increase the fee charged at all.

Ok I will try and have a go !

We really need the promo code function as well so I will have to make this work
I could not find the invoice.php file to edit.

The closest I could find was invoice_var.php in my under the invoice folder ? is that the file I should edit.

Do I just drop the suggested code at the base of the php file ?

cheers
Brent

Hi Brent,

You’ll want to start with a fresh copy of the function.pdf.php file that’s inside the /gateways/invoice folder. You drop the function inside the Espresso_PDF class, so the function is actually a method.

Then step two is add the template code to the invoice folder’s template.php, the example template code is here:

https://gist.github.com/joshfeck/e2b91cd6599000ecb772

Then when the modifications are done, you can copy the entire /invoice folder from the plugin folder to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways. This will make it so if you update you will not lose your changes.

Oh, and just in case you’re wondering which method to drop in, it’s this one:

https://gist.github.com/joshfeck/a0482a918ef34bee24ab

All it does is take the total price and multiply it by 10/11 to get a price without tax amount.

Hi Brent,

One support token should cover the time to make this happen.

Thanks Josh. Thats a very kind and reasonable offer.

I am meeting my business partner tomorrow and I will put it too him.

Obviously there is not much point fixing it all and then updgrading to EE4 the next week. If your confident that promo code support will not be ready by october we will purchase the token and fix up the GST issue for EE3. I have not looked into the issue of theme support either. I hope our theme on amsn.com.au may work for EE4 in the future.

If you think you will have EE4 ready for promo codes and mail chimp integration by october then we will wait. hope to hear back from you.

thanks again for your time and expertise
Brent

Hi Brent,

MailChimp will be ready before October, there’s a few outstanding issues with the core plugin to iron out before MailChimp can be released (basically MailChimp requires Event Espresso 4.3, which has to be finished before we can release).

I do not have a timetable or an estimate on when Promotions for Event Espresso 4 will be ready. So all I can do is make a wild guess about when that will be ready.
