Hi, I have used the groupon extension and voucher import tool successfully in the past. I am now offering a new deal (not groupon), but found that I can simply assign a unique identifier to the new deal code so I can differentiate between the two providers.
The one issue that I am running into, is that I want a particular code to only give access to 1 seat in an event. Currently, I have the limit to 6 in one purchase, as I dont want to lose out on direct purchases. I noticed however that my codes that I created and entered into the system will grant access to up to 6 seats, when the intention is to only allow access to one.
Is there a way to tell the system that if someone has a voucher code, and they choose more than one seat in the checkout, that it assigns a free seat with one, and a paid seat for the other, meaning they would have to pay for the additional seat?
Currently Groupon codes will apply a 100% discount to all of the tickets within a registration. Effectively making any amount of tickets the user purchases free if they include a Groupon Code.
The other option is to create another event to be used for only the Coupon codes you have applied, setting the limit to 1 within that event.
Other purchases would need to be applied through another event with a limit of 6 to allow for further registrations.
Update: The Promotions add-on for Event Espresso 4 is now available. It adds the ability to apply a promotional code or a group coupon (single use) and it will discount one ticket in the cart instead of all the tickets.
