Hello – Thank you. |
Hi Melissa, EE4 has its own Promotion code system now, however Social coupons are not officially supported within the system. There’s a few different types of ‘social coupon’ codes, one being being single use, unique codes per purchase. This is not something that EE4 can easily support at this time, it is possible to do, but would require a lot of manual work. Each coupon code would need to be manually entered into the system and a ‘uses’ value of 1 set on that coupon. The other is where they provide a generic code (like GROUPON25) and a unique security code. This could easily be setup within EE4 and the security code captured through a registration form question. However you’ll still need to manually confirm each coupon security code. Actually both of those options couple be covered by setting up a generic coupon (Like GROUNON25, LIVINGSOCIAL10 etc) then capturing the code within the registration form. However as the code is generic there is the possibility that people may attempt to reuse the code, which is where your manual verification of the security codes comes in. How do you capture the details currently with EE3? |

I currently use the voucher import tool that was created. |
So do you not need to capture a unique security code per coupon code? Previously when I have ran promotions through Groupon, I’m given a single unique code per coupon. The purchaser receives this code and another ‘security’ code. Without the security code I could not recoup the monies for that coupon from groupon. I’ve also used living social who had a similar setup but have also just issues single codes without the need for a security code, so I believe it depends on the promotion you are using. |

Groupon provides me 500+ codes at a time. Each code is unique. I then upload all 500+ codes with the voucher import tool in EE3. My customers then input their unique code into our system when registering on the website. They put their code in the “voucher” field. For my business, I need a unique code for each person. I also need a quick way to import them all being that we use a lot of Groupons and Living Socials. |
