I have attempted to go through all the issues that I have seen posted to get my maps to work. I have a valid API, a credit card on file with google (boooo) and everything entered into the venues tab as far as I can tell. Here is the error I continue to get:

Could this have anything to do with SSO? Would the single sign on keep Googlemaps from data provision? That’s the only thing I can think of at this point.

Even if I have to walk through this in 22 convenient steps, let’s get this working. Thanks.

RefererNotAllowedMapAError means you API has been set to allow a different domain, or should I say set to allow a domain(s) other than the one making the request.

Go, edit you API key through Google Console/Cloud/Whatever they now call it 🙂

From the clouad console, click the stacked icon and go to ‘APIs & Services’ – https://monosnap.com/file/bDqvc4eR9inFlQ21tcwYwrA0jmBt7H

Now go to ‘Credentials’, you’ll see a list of keys on your account, click the pencil icon for your key you are using to edit that key.

In ‘Application restrictions’ what do you have set? I’m guessing ‘HTTP referrers’, if so, what do you have set in the ‘Website restrictions to allow your domain?

What I think is a little confusing on Google end is they give you an example like *.domain.com with little explanation. That DOES NOT work with http(s)://domain.com because there is no www. or *. (anyting.) on the domain.

Here is what I had, which was my best guess at the time:

Remove all of those and replace them with just:

*iclega-attend.org/*

Didn’t actually do anything with either entry:
*/iclega-attend.org/*
nor
*.iclega-attend.org/*

Changed each, waited 5 minutes each. Did it again.

Leave it as just *iclega-attend.org/*

https://*.iclega-attend.org/* will not work, you don’t have *. before your domain, as in its not www.iclega-attend.org/* and leaving the schema out allows for both http and https connections.

Neither will */iclega-attend.org/* for similar reasons.

It can sometimes take a while to go through.

Under API retrictions, you have a single API allowed, which API is that?

Does it work if you set the key to be unrestricted?

I set it to unrestricted and it works that way. I just need to be sure I am not racking up a bill! I recall seeing a report that states what sort of service is being used, I will refer to that and make sure. Thanks, you should close this ticket.
