I’ve seen others have had this problem. I’ve obtained and entered the API key, with appropriate referrer. Maps are shown on event signup pages and in confirmation emails but not on the venues page. I see no relevant error message (also not in debug.log) Any idea what’s up?

Hi there,

Can you post a link to the event and venue page so we can view this, please?

This is very strange. The Post Type Archive page automatically generated by EE (in German) is called /Kursorte/ (with a capital K). When I set the WP language to US English, the header menu item is shown as “All venues”. Clicking it tries to open http://evmgr.lernen-im-quartier.ch/venues/, but brings the error message: “SORRY! THAT PAGE DOESN’T SEEM TO EXIST.”
If I manually change the URL to http://evmgr.lernen-im-quartier.ch/Kursorte/, the venues display correctly, including maps.
But if I set the WP language back to Deutsch, the menu item is displayed as “Alle Kursorte”. Clicking it opens the page http://evmgr.lernen-im-quartier.ch/Kursorte/ (i.e. same as manually entered above), which displays the venue photos but no addresses or maps.
Can you figure that out?

When you change the site language you’ll need to flush your permalinks by navigating to Settings -> Permalinks and saving.

Did you do that when testing?

If I manually change the URL to http://evmgr.lernen-im-quartier.ch/Kursorte/, the venues display correctly, including maps.

So if the site language is set to anything other than US English the maps don’t display?

Thanks for the Permalinks tip. That at least makes the URLs consistent with the menu items.
But yes: If I change to German (that’s the only other language I have available), the DETAILS, ADDRESSES and maps don’t show.

I now also installed French – same thing as German.
But I noticed another strange phenomenon. I have manually made page and menu item called “Orte” (http://evmgr.lernen-im-quartier.ch/orte/), which has the same content as “All venues”. It works correctly when the site is set to German, but when it’s set to US English or French, the *photos* aren’t displayed (but the maps are).

You’re loading the ‘photos’ within an iFrame, sounds like they are loading from the wrong location or something with the permalinks but I don’t know how you have that setup to load as its not from EE?

I’ll do some investigating with the site languages.
