Hi there, I’m considering switching from Event Calendar to Event Espresso. The feature that I really need is the ability to manage a global stock of tickets. So if I have 10 seats at my event, I want the ability to sell 1) Standard Early Bird tickets I need my ticketing plugin to make sure that I don’t sell more than 10 tickets overall, regardless of category. So if we’ve sold 5 early bird corporate and 4 early bird standard, we only have one ticket left for the event. Does Event Espresso allow us to keep track of the total number of tickets sold in this way and show the event as sold out when a total of 10 tickets are sold (regardless of their category)? Thanks Daniel |
Hi Daniel, Yes. The way it works in Event Espresso 4 is you set up a datetime, and the datetime as a registration limit. In your case, you’d set that to 10. Then, you set up your individual tickets with their specific pricing. When all of those tickets are assigned to same datetime, the limit will be 10 tickets overall. Here’s a screenshot that shows an example of how to set up an event like this: If you’d like to take the time to try before you buy, you can set up a free demo account here: |

Hi Josh, Thanks for that. I’m test driving the plugin now. I’ve just set up a test account, and I’ve been able to add an event, but the currency is set in Dollars. I’m based in the UK, so I went to the General Settings tab and changed the country to United Kingdom. I hit save and it said my new country settings were saved, but when I went back into this settings tab the country had reverted to USA. How do I make the country stick at United Kingdom, or is this a bug? Thanks Daniel |

Don’t worry Josh. I’ve sorted that question out. It seems that I needed to update the country in the first tab as well to make the change stick. That’s a bit counter-intuitive – in fact I’d expect it to cross-populate, but I figured it out. I’ll continue having a play to see if I can make the plugin do everything I need it to. Thanks again Daniel |
I’m not worried, what you saw there was the result of some poor UX/UI and we intend to fix that. So to explain the country settings a bit, you set your country in the Organization settings tab. Then, in the Countries tab, you can configure the settings for your and other countries. There is currently no mechanism or setting on the Countries tab to select the organization setting, the options there are for changing each of the country’s settings. |

Thank you Josh. I understand now. By the way, I’ve posted another question on discounts for multiple events. This is the only other feature that I need to find an implementation for before I can feel secure in buying your plugin. I’d be obliged if you could answer it. |
