Hello !

I am currently experiencing what I hope will be my last trouble in modding EE for the needs of my customer ๐Ÿ™‚

I have to create an access to event managers, which would have only access to the registration of their events.

The trouble I have here is that I can’t grant permission on an event to someone with the custom role I made for them. If I switch one of my manager to admin, then add him an event and switch him back to his previous role, it works, but it would be a pain for my customer to act that way.

Looking in the code, I found that there is a filter on the author dropdown, though I didn’t find how to add my manager role users into it.

Could you please tell me how I could add them automatically ?

Thank you already !

Hi there,

They automatically get event authorship for an event if they’re logged in and their user account is the one that creates the event. So if you’re setting up these events ahead of time, you could use the User Switcher plugin, switch to that user, then create the event. Then they’ll automatically be the author.

In order to allow them to publish events, you can ensure that they have the, ee_publish_event, ee_publish_events, ee_edit_event, and ee_edit_events capabilities at a minimum, as well as any other capabilities that they may need (ie, the caps for reading registrations and transactions).
